Ko tenei te Wiki o Te Reo Maori, 26 Hongongoi - 1 Here Turi Koka 2010. Ko te kaupapa mo tenei tau ‘Te Mahi Kai’.
This is Maori Language Week, 26 July - 1 August 2010. The theme this year is ‘The Language of Food’.

Here are some basic phrases to help your speech:

He aha mau?
What would you like?

He kapu tii maku.
I would like a cup of tea.

Kawhe - Coffee
Wai arani - Orange juice
Wai maori - Water
Wai reka - Soft drink
Miraka - Milk
Huka - Sugar

Kahore kau.
Nothing.

Kia pai to ra.
Have a good day.

Ka kite ano.
See you again.
