Bible Study: Thurs 13 May 2010
May 13, 2010
Reading: Luke 24:44-53
He said to the, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.
Questions for you to reflect on:
1. How often do you read the Bible.
2. Share your favourite scripture that has inspired you in faith.
3. In what ways could General Synod/Te Hinota Whanui further inspire the Anglican Church to share the story if the risen and ascended Christ with the world.

Got something to say?

1. To be honest, I don’t personally read much of the Paipera. I listen to the scriptures on a Sunday and offer my thoughts to God. Some times I will attend the morning karakia at St Johns College and hear the readings then.
2. My favourite scripture, I am not sure if its my fave but I have heard it plenty working with Te Mara Rangatahi Ministry School. Jeremiah 1, in short, the calling of this young boy and the Lord says to him do not be afraid and he was appointed over the nations to lead his people.
It gives me hope in my calling as a young wahine that I will do good things if I have a little faith in God.
3. GS sharing the word of the Lord with other Anglicans, to be honest its all about working together. If we can organise regular bible studies in our Hui Amorangi/Diocese and being united using the same reading across NZ would be an excellent start. Having the 2010 Lectionary available online so we can use the daily scripture. Sharing a reflection and a few questions online so others can read and gain confidence in sharing their part with the country.
