Anglican Youth Yeah Collect

God of our journey,

You call us to travel to a new place.

When storms threaten,

May we trust in your grace.

When peace reigns,

May we speak in your praise.

Unite us, both young and old,

That our light might so shine,

And bring glory to you

In your holy and precious name we pray,

Amen.

We are from Holy Cross St Kilda Parish, Sunday School and Youth group. We meet most Sundays excluding School Holidays. We meet at church on 3 Sundays and 1 Sunday we do an activity away from the church. We have an annual family camp at Sutton, near Middlemarch. Our purpose is to learn about being a Christian. We follow a programme which includes bible readings and activities. We participate in CWS ‘Wipe out poverty’. This year we will produce art for a silent art auction. We meet for activity and learning days each term. We work on mission projects together, eg we encouraged our church to adopt a World Vision Sponsored Child. We help lead the intergenerational worship usually once a month and we help at parish meals and the fair. At camp we spend time together, go for walks, bike rides, swimming and go to the local church (usually we help with the service). What are your hopes and dreams for your group? We can try to make our community a better place. Hope to remain good friends. Share the good things we have, e.g. St Christopher’s Children’s’ Home in Fiji and a primary school near our church. We’d like the Church to pray for a peaceful and fulfilling existence for all people, and to share the resources of the world so there is more equality.

The Otago Peninsula Parish consists of four churches, St Michael’s, St Nichola’s and St Aidan’s, which are placed along the beautiful Otago Peninsula. Our parish is small but we are focused on growth and reaching out to our community. We have been in for the past year and a half but are delighted with the appointment of our new Vicar, Rev’d Helen Wilderspin, who will join us in November this year. We would like to pray for Helen and for the continued growth of our Parish.
