Readings
First Reading Job 1:1; 2:1-10
Second Reading Hebrews 1:1-14
Gospel Mark 10:2-16
Theme
Let the children come!
Sentence
“Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very centre of life in the kingdom.”
Mark 10:14
Collect
Indignant God,
who swept up the little ones to protect them
from stern words and uncomfortable stares
and who laid hands on them to bless.
Open our ears, eyes and hearts
to see you in the children and young people around us.
As you gathered them into the centre of your circle
may we remove our self imposed barriers
and allow you to bring them in to the centre of our lives,
and into the centre of this community,
that they may be joined to you
and we might receive the kingdom of God.
We ask this through Jesus Christ
who said “let the children come”.
Amen

The objectives of my position are:
- To foster mutual support and encouragement among those working in youth ministry at Diocesan and Regional levels. Youth Ministry includes both Diocesan and Regional Youth Ministry structures and Diocesan and Regional Professional Youth Staff
- To focus the communication network between Diocesan youth ministries and the wider church within Tikanga Pakeha.
- To engage in youth related education and training in partnership with tikanga pakeha diocesan and regional personnel and structures.
- To ensure continued development of youth links with our cultural and ecumenical partners, other national and international youth operations.
- To work with others to broaden and deepen the church’s understanding of youth ministry so that it is seen as ministry: to youth, for youth, with youth, from youth
What are my hopes and dreams? That ministry among children and young people will become the number one priority for our church, and that we will be known for our creative and life changing work among young people. I’d like the Church to pray for the courage and faith to be the kind of church described above.

Creator God,

This we ask through your son, our salt,
Jesus Christ,

We are an events based ministry for young people and youth groups in the Diocese of Waikato that will nurture young people in their faith. We meet 6 times a year, in different pasts of the diocese, to plan and run awesome youth events. Our hope is for a youth programme and a church which honours and nurtures the gifts of its young. We’d like the Church to pray that the richness of our church may touch the lives of all people in our hurting world.

We are a group of young people who love being together and learning about God. We meet once a week, in a Church building, for fun and teaching, and to get to get to know who God is. What would we like the wider church to pray for? – More realization of who God is.
