We worship at St. Barnabas and meet once a week on Sunday. We gather during the adult sermon and usually do some activity related to the readings. We’d like the church to pray for the world. There is a general concern for the world wide problems as is often featured on T.V. – i.e. famine, war, floods, terrorism, plus concern and thanksgiving for their families.

E te Wairua Pono, Wairua Whakawaa (Spirit of Justice and Truth),
Who is with us, prepares us and sends us out to do your will:
Who has been with us from the beginning, and will be forever.
You invite us to join your mahi in the world
Help us to put our trust in you, and to know that you have been with us from the beginning.
Make us open to receive your gifts and send us out to live your truth and see that your justice is done in all parts of the world.
Help us to trust that your plan is bigger than we can see, and guide us to be part of it.

The Order of Saint Stephen
We are a religious order: OSS is a network of young adults and their supporters, living out ministry and mission through prayer, community &service, from with in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, NZ. There are currently 8 members in OSS. We are a dispersed religious community, so we don’t get to meet together that often. We all meet together once a year, at our annual national retreat. Members meet with other members in their region for other retreats throughout the year, and informal gatherings occur also.
In the words of Bishop Tom Brown, Bishop of Wellington: “OSS is about encouraging and enabling young people, the leaders of tomorrow’s church.” OSS is about intentionally developing your relationship with God, which is THE most important thing a person can do. When we meet together as a community, we have fun, get to know each other more, do some reflection and learning about God and ourselves.
Basically, we want to see more young people join OSS, because I have seen the different it has made in the lives of the present members. Imagine what the Church would be like if all (young) people were intentional about going after God! We’d like to see the Church pray for the young people in OSS already, and for those in the 16-25 year old age group in general, that they would grow to know God in a more deep and personal way.

We are a group of young people aged from 11-25. We meet every Tuesday night- Group studies and worship at the church Friday night - social night at the church Sunday morning (once a month youth lead service).As a youth group we come together to learn about God and the Church. Our hope is:
- To do more outreach into the community.
- To offer relevant Christianity.
Pray for our church and our youth, so that we can learn and grow to be fully functioning Christians and incorporate God into our lives.
