Help us to be seekers of truth in this turbulent world.

Remind us of the promise of eternal life for those who believe in you.

Be a mentor for us as we teach your salvation to young and old in Aotearoa-New Zealand and Pasifika.

Help us to be ambassadors of your words,

In your precious name, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

General Synod 2006: The Powhiri

The 57th session of the General Synod opened on Sunday, May 7, in Christchurch. The General Synod, held biennially,  is the "parliament" of the Three Tikanga Church, responsible for it’s policies and doctrines.

This General Synod began with a powhiri in front of the Christchurch Cathedral, were several hundred people gathered to brave the cold weather. The powhiri include vibrant performances by a local kapa haka group, St Michael’s Church School, and concluded with Eucharist Service inside the Cathedral, backed by the Cathedral choir.
