The Youth of the Holy Family Church, Waidradra, Fiji
The Holy Family Youth Group belongs to the Church of the Holy Family, in the village of Waidradra.
Because our church is located in the village of Waidradra, our Youth Group is community-focused, meaning we work together ecumenically with our Methodist and Roman Catholic Youths of the village. Our village is located at the Adventure Capital of Fiji –Pacific Harbour. Because our village is a hotspot for eco tourism, (we have a great beach, great inland waterfalls and rivers, as well as the diverse wildlife), some of our young people have been fortunate to land jobs in the tourism industry. There are 30 Anglican youths in our Group. Realistically, because we live in a village, we meet everyday, either in the gardens, fishing, or at community events, however, we also meet formally every Monday night at 8.00pm in our Church Hall. Our Monday night meetings involve singing, praise and worship, and Bible
Study. We also make visitations once a week to the elderly and sick people in our village.
Our main purpose is to nurture our young people of Waidradra in their spiritual life and relationship with God. Another purpose is to learn to share the Word of God. We also try to create an awareness and appreciation of the young people in our village towards making the most of God’s creation by earning income for our families in the village through fishing (Waidradra is a coastal village), and planting crops for both subsistence and semisubsistence purposes. Our Youth Group has been involved in farming projects over the years, since we registered with the Government Ministry of Youth and Sport. We have had successful yaqona farming project and just this year we began a new project – watermelonfarming
project. Also this November our Youth Group will be opening our Annual Church Bazaar therefore we are preparing ourselves for this occasion. In the near future, we look forward to seeing more of our young people joining priesthood, lay minister services to help spread the Word of God to those who don’t know Jesus. We ask your prayers for the young people of the village of Waidradra. We especially ask your prayers for those young people who are breadwinners for their families, who try to meet the demands of their families on a daily basis. We also ask your prayers for those youths in our village who do not value the Word of God, who do not value their families, who lie around idle and unemployed. We ask you to pray that Our Good Lord will help them make use of their talents from above.

The Youth of All Saints Youth, Apia, Samoa.
We are the Youth members of the All Saints Anglican Church in Samoa. We meet once a week, at the Church Hall to discuss activities for the year, such as fundraising, bible studies, and other social activities. We hope to increase the number of youth members attending and participating in the all the youth activities and meetings, and especially for all young people to know and have faith in the word as well have salvation. Please pray for all young people to have a thirst for the Word and for them to learn more about our Saviour Jesus Christ; That their minds and hearts are not easily tempted by the many worldly things or activities that seems to be taking a lot of their times these days. Moreover please pray for them to make time for the Lord, because it is getting harder these days to get them to come to church and to participate in the youth activities.

The Youth of St Barnabas, Tonga.
We are a Tongan Anglican Youth Group There are 25 active members – teenager and young adults. We meet weekly for various programmes such as bible studies, games, action song / skits and singing practices, and visitations etc. We would like our young ones to be able to identify themselves with our Christian environment and perspectives. We hope that the church can be a secure place for young adults and teenagers to relate to one another. We hope to be a part of the church as youth, accepted, recognised and valued. We want the church to be a place where old and young are able to work hand in hand and grow together in their faith.

The Youth of St Paul’s Anglican Church, Tonga
We are a Youth group made up of teenagers and young adults between 12 and 36. We belong to St Paul’s and we provide a youthful Christian environment and teaching based on Christian principles and values. We generally meet twice a week at the church hall from our own programmes. We also have monthly meetings at the beginning of each month. We have a wide range of programmes ranging from spiritual to physical activities. But you could say that from Monday to Friday, the young people are always at the church compound, either for a programme, or playing volleyball, or for church activities such as singing and drama practice - or sometimes just cleaning the church compound. We hope to provide the youth with a safe environment in which they feel at home, and secondly to give them a taste of ‘being youthfully alive in Jesus’, yet feeling free to express themselves. Please pray for Youth Ministry, Protection and Guidance of youth, for the Youth voice to be heard in their respective churches, for Young people and elders of the church to be both open minded and complement each other in their ministry, and for youth to be an instrument of the Lord.

Collects
God who does not discriminate
We are thankful that you choose to use us for your work
regardless of the labels that we and society place on us
Give us your good sense to mix with our questions and our faith.
Till next time
Amen
Mysterious Lord of the unexpected
You are awesome and powerful
You made your spirit come over Mary
To bring us your son
Help us not to be afraid of your power.
Help us to follow your great plan
Through your Son,
Amen
King over our fears, problems and testing times
We are in your high favour
We are weak and sometimes we think we are not worthy
Help us to know your will
And to carry out your will in the world.
Prepare us for the plans you have.
Thank you for your encouragement and guidance,
Amen
God you are scary
Your burden us with responsibilities
And challenge us to let your light shine through us
Show us the deeds, great or small,
That will bring your kingdom into our world
Through you may we gain courage.
Amen. Alleluia. Amen
God who is always in control of everything
God who showed us through the example of Mary how we can have faith and trust in you
When you call may we answer with confidence like Mary
Help us to know that we are called to do great things
Give us faith to discern your calling and to act with courage and wisdom
Through Jesus Christ our strength and hope
Amen
God who is always there
God who has no fear
God in whom we trust
We praise you for your guidance in our lives
Even though we don’t understand all of your plan
Help us to be happy in the plan for us
In all of life’s situations help us to put our trust in you
Let the Holy Spirit overcome all our fears and doubts
Help us to be strong in our faith as witnesses to the people
Let your message spread to all your favoured children
Help us find our strength in you, and not let other things turn us around
Help us know in our souls that we are not alone
Makes us open to when and where your message will come to us
God who is always there

The Youth of National Anglican Youth Forum: Tikanga Pakeha
The National Anglican Youth Forum; Tikanga Pakeha is for school goers (usually over 14
years old), university goers, and workers-as well as others who really care about young
people in the church. For the last three or four year around 60 young people from the seven diocese attend Forum. Sometimes there are up to 100. Forum meets once a year during the first week of the July school holidays. It is hosted by a different Diocese each year, so moves around the country. In 2006, Forum is being hosted by the Diocese of Waiapu and will be held in Rotorua, on July 2-6. Our purpose is to provide a space for young people; To experience the wider church and what it means to be a part of a network; learn the skills to speak for themselves in the wider church; and have a voice and know the adults present will remember and act on their ideas and visions. We hope that Forum will continue to develop and be a place of empowering young people to make a difference and to become the creative and forward thinking leaders our church needs. We hope that Youth Ministry will be seen as a core activity of all of church life, not something we do if we have time or resources left. This will mean that parishioners and clergy will make to time build relationships with young people. We also hope:
- That the habit of having services on Sunday mornings will be addressed and alternative ministry times for young people will be explored;
- That funding for youth staff, youth groups, youth events and youth initiatives are considered a priority and not just given what’s left over; and
- That young people are given opportunities to voice their concerns at all levels of the church, including synod and vestries. Youth must make their voice heard, so that others understand us.
